A Wodaabe man stands in full ceremonial garb, every detail of him sharpened for the moment, his eyes wide, his teeth bright in display. Around him, planets levitate in slow rhythm, drawn to the call of his ritual the way a partner is drawn to a dance. This is the Yaake, the ancient art of attraction his people have carried for generations. With every step, every glance, new worlds begin to bloom, each one a possible future, a possible love, a possible life. Africa has always known that beauty is not vanity, it is invitation, and from this invitation the next generation is born.
