Beneath an Ethiopian sky, Suri children ride the backs of African elephants like old friends, drifting through the Omo Valley with planets gathered in their hands. The earth hums beneath them, and the elephants walk slowly, as if they too remember being children. There is a beauty only the young can carry, a joy that belongs to no one and everyone, playful and unguarded and somehow ancient all at once. To paint these children at play is to paint a prayer, a future still blooming, still rooted, still wild with the freedom Africa has always whispered into the ears of her own.
