Big Bang - Metal Print
An African man stands in the darkest void, where the universe holds its oldest silence. His hand rests against his forehead, a quiet gesture, the body folding inward the way thought folds inward. And from the back of his head, the Big Bang erupts, light tearing through the dark, the first moment of everything blooming out of him. I painted this to ask a question I keep returning to. What if the cosmos was never out there at all. What if creation begins, and has always begun, inside us.
This painting explores themes of creation, existence, and the interconnectedness of all things. The African man stands as a powerful figure, grounding the cosmic explosion in human experience and history. The contrast between the dark void and the radiant explosion highlights the duality of chaos and order, darkness and light. "The Big Bang" is not just a depiction of a cosmic event, but a reflection on the origins of thought, identity, and the boundless potential of the human mind.
