Some men carry water, others carry gold. This Tuareg carries the abyss itself, a black hole resting easy between his palms while planets stream into it like rivers finding the sea. His camel walks beside him, unbothered, even as the pull begins to draw the great beast in. There is no panic in the desert. The Tuareg has learned, as Africa has always taught her wanderers, that mystery is not something to flee from. It is something to hold steady, and to walk with, until the sands give up their next horizon.
