His weapon is being dismantled in the air, each piece drifting loose, the bullets hovering around him like a storm choosing to pass. This is the moment of release, the rare and difficult grace of laying a weapon down. Peace is not the absence of strength. It is strength that has decided where it belongs. Africa has always carried both, the courage to fight and the deeper courage to lay the fight to rest.
