This painting is a song to the orisha Ibeji, spirit of twins, born of the soil and stories of Africa. On the left, Kehinde stands in a dress of succulents, surrounded by moths drawn to her quiet flame, the twin of mischief. Beside her, Taiwo blooms in petals and butterflies, the twin of beauty. They are not opposites but echoes, two voices of the same breath, the duality each of us carries inside a single body. I painted them together because no part of us, and no child of Africa, was ever meant to walk alone.
