His palms open before him, and above them rests a glowing planet. At its heart Africa shines, lit from within by an enlightened power, the same power that has carried his people for as long as Africa has known their name. This is the trial, and he meets it the way his ancestors met theirs, knowing that resilience is not given to us. It is gathered, step by step, by every African who refuses to break.
